The short version
Bootstrapper.com is free to read and free to use. To keep it that way we may earn money in three ways, and we tell you on the page whenever one of them applies:
- Our own products. We sell (or will sell) a small number of paid templates, such as the Acquisition Deal Kit. Those pages say clearly that the product is ours and what it costs.
- Affiliate and referral links. Some links may go to services such as lenders, company-formation services or software, and we may earn a commission if you sign up or buy. You never pay more because you used our link.
- Sponsorships. The newsletter or a page may carry a clearly labelled sponsor message.
As of this page's last update, we have no active affiliate or sponsor relationships. This page will be updated when that changes.
How we label paid links
- Any affiliate or sponsored link is labelled next to the link itself, with a short note that we may earn a commission and a link back to this page.
- Paid links carry the `rel="sponsored"` attribute, as search engines ask.
- Sponsored newsletter content is labelled "Sponsored".
What money does not change
- Calculators. No partner can change a formula, a default input or a result. The math is covered by an open test suite.
- Editorial content. Partners do not review or approve our guides before publication. We recommend services based on fit for the reader, and we will say so when we have not tested a service ourselves.
- Rankings. We do not sell placement in comparisons. Where we list options, we explain the criteria.
This follows our editorial standards and the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidance that endorsements and material connections be disclosed clearly and close to the claim.
